S T R U T c o l l e c t i o n
I grew up in the unappreciated industrial town, Middlesbrough. In 2013, while looking at the industry in Middlesbrough, I created a collection focusing on creating something of beauty from an otherwise considered ugly subject, my Ironopolis Collection. In 2015 the closure of the steelworks has re-established the importance of the industrial works and its role in the town. This pushed me to want to revisit the collection with new eyes using the recent happenings to inspire and influence my jewellery pieces.
I named the collection ‘Strut’ relating to a supportive structure much like the industry to Teesside.
